How to choose the product or products to sell by drop shipping

The easiest way to find a product to sell, is to sell something that you are interested in.
Sit down and make a list of five or six of your interests. Are there products related to those interests? If so, write up a list of the products that relate to one of your interests. Is there an existing market for those products? Are those products available from an existing drop shipping wholesaler?
Here are some examples of interests and products:
Do you like computers? Do you like upgrading computers? Then consider selling computer systems or computer parts. There is a large market for computer components and systems. Take a quick look around eBay or a search at Google.com and see how popular this market is. There is lots of competition because there is lots of demand.
There are more households today that have more than one computer than there was ten years ago. And with the ease of connecting these computers together, more people are buying networking components. Yet another product line you can sell. Networking supplies.
Do you like software? How about educational software? Statistics are showing that parents place more priority on their children’s education than they did twenty years ago. And parents are buying computers, and educational software, for their children at a younger age. This opens up the door for you to sell quality educational software to thousands of people across the world. Remember, your customer base is no longer your neighborhood, or even your state. It is the entire internet… the entire world.
Do you like to play golf? If so, your not alone. Hundreds of thousands of people play golf every day. They need new golf equipment, right? So why not offer it to them? You can sell clubs, shoes, gold balls, golf clothing. You can even sell golf knick-knacks. Stuff for kids to buy their grandfather for Christmas. Or something for the employee to buy her boss for Boss Appreciation Day.
It isn’t always easy to find a wholesale drop shipper who will sell you the product you want to sell. Just because you can buy the product at your local department store, doesn’t mean that there is a company out there willing to drop ship that product for you. Many companies only deal in large inventory purchases, which is contrary to the drop shipping purpose.
You might want to purchase a list of drop shipped products, and pick some related ones that you want to sell. This way you know that you can get the product drop shipped. It may not be exactly what you want to sell, but isn’t it better to sell 100 items that you like, than 0 products that you love, right?
So, grab that pad and paper and start making some lists. Find out what you want to sell, and start looking for drop shippers who are selling those products. Be sure to look for many items, so you have a variety to choose from when it comes time to sell.
